From the manufacturer's website:

Phoenix is a 100% natural fat burner that speeds up your metabolism, enhances fat burning, and reduces hunger and cravings.

Phoenix is formulated with 8 important ingredients:

  1. Epigallocatechin Gallate (also known as EGCG) is a form of a molecule known as a catechin, and is found in green tea, certain types of nuts, and carob.

While “green tea catechins” refers to at least six molecules, EGCG is most responsible for their fat burning effects.

It blocks an enzyme known as catechol-O-methyltransferase, which degrades adrenaline and noradrenaline.

That’s why research shows that EGCG accelerates fat loss, and, interestingly, abdominal fat in particular.

We’ve also included EGCG to potentially increase the effectiveness of another ingredient, 5-HTP.

For it to work as we intend, 5-HTP must travel to the brain and be converted into serotonin to work, and EGCG prevents it from being converted in the blood, negating its benefits.

  2. Forskolin is a substance found in the Indian herb Coleus forskohlii, which has long been used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat heart and respiratory disorders.

Supplementation with forskolin increases blood plasma and intracellular levels of a molecule known as cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate), which functions as a "message relayer" vital to various biochemical processes including the regulation of glycogen, sugar, and lipid metabolism.

cAMP and ATP—adenosine triphosphate, the most basic form of cellular energy in the body—interact in a very simple yet powerful way in cells.

When ATP is high, this indicates energy is plentiful and the body is free to store and build tissue. When cAMP is high, however, this signifies a lack of ATP and the need to prioritize its production through burning energy reserves like body fat.

Forskolin activates an enzyme known as adenylyl cyclase, which converts ATP to cAMP, and this stimulates the production of cellular energy.

All this is why research shows that supplementation with forskolin accelerates fat loss and appears to increase testosterone levels as well.

  3. 5-HTP is a compound produced by the metabolism of the amino acid tryptophan, which is found in foods like milk, meat, potatoes, pumpkin, and various greens.

It’s converted into serotonin in the brain, which is one of the principal neurotransmitters involved in feelings of happiness.

That’s why research shows that, when taken with food, 5-HTP increases feelings of fullness and thus helps you control your food intake.

Studies also show that 5-HTP can reduce cravings for carbohydrates in particular.

  4. Salicin is a substance found in foods like berries, olives, and mushrooms, and willow bark.

It’s metabolized into salicylic acid in the body, which is a natural anti-inflammatory, painkiller, and blood thinner.

Salicylic acid also inhibits the production of molecules known as prostaglandins, which can hinder the metabolic effects of ephedrine and ephedrine-like compounds such as synephrine.

In this way, salicylic acid also amplifies the effectiveness of these fat-burning chemicals, and that’s why we included it in Phoenix (which also contains synephrine).

  5. L-Tyrosine is an amino acid found in many high-protein food products, including poultry, fish, dairy products, and nuts.

We’ve included L-tyrosine in Phoenix because longer-term usage of 5-HTP may deplete bodily tyrosine stores.

While most people wouldn’t use Phoenix long enough to experience significant tyrosine depletion and likely get plenty of tyrosine from their diets, we’ve included it as a “just in case” safety buffer.

  6. Synephrine From Advantra Z®: Synephrine is a chemical compound found in certain types of citrus fruits, with the most common source being the bitter variety.

It’s chemically similar to ephedrine and catecholamines (the chemicals adrenaline and noradrenaline, which break down fat cells), and produces similar effects in the body.

That’s why research shows that supplementation with synephrine . . .

    • Increases both resting metabolic rate and lipolysis.
    • Inhibits the activity of certain types of fat cell receptors that prevent fat mobilization.

Furthermore, studies show synephrine works synergistically with caffeine to enhance both caffeine’s and its own fat loss properties.

The synergism noted in a standard "ECA" (ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin) stack also applies to synephrine.

Additionally, anything that has the ability to increase catecholamine activity can also suppress hunger between meals, and thus synephrine is generally considered to be an appetite suppressant.

  7. Naringenin is a type of molecule known as a flavonoid and it's found in grapefruits, oranges, and the skins of tomatoes.

Naringenin stimulates the production of a hormone known as adiponectin, which is involved in the breakdown of fat cells, and activates a type of receptor in fat cells that regulates fat mobilization (the PPARα receptor).

Studies also show that naringenin works synergistically with synephrine and hesperidin to further boost metabolic rate.

Specifically, research shows that one clinically effective dose of synephrine, naringenin, and hesperidin can increase your resting metabolic rate by as much as 183 calories.

Think about that number for a moment.

That’s the same amount of calories burned in about 20 minutes of jogging and an additional 1,300 calories burned every seven days, which is a little more than ⅓ of the calories in a pound of fat.

And that’s why we included naringenin in Phoenix—to enhance fat burning and further increase metabolic rate.

  8. Hesperidin is a type of molecule known as a flavonoid, and it’s abundant in citrus fruits, especially oranges.

Hesperidin stimulates the production of a hormone known as adiponectin, which is involved in the breakdown of fat cells, and activates a type of receptor in fat cells that regulates fat mobilization (the PPARα receptor).

Studies also shows that hesperidin works synergistically with synephrine and naringenin to further boost metabolic rate.
