The Filter for Crane Humidifiers is also known as a Demineralization Cartridge. It’s used in ultrasonic humidifiers to eliminate what’s known as harmful “white dust.” This dust is caused by using mineral heavy hard water, tap, or otherwise in ultrasonic humidifiers. When minerals and limescale build-up in your humidifier, they can directly affect the humidifier shortening its life and hindering performance and operation. That's where the Demineralization Cartridges come in. They consist of an external clean control antimicrobial housing and granulated core that absorbs the minerals that filter through it, preventing them from being released into the air. Crane recommends replacing the cartridge 1-2 months, 30 – 40 reservoir fillings, or depending upon use. Continue to clean your humidifier regularly for optimal health and efficient performance
