From the manufacturer's website:
There are two natural forms of vitamin K: vitamin K1 and vitamin K2. Vitamin K1 is derived from plants and is primarily found in the Western diet from green leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale, and broccoli. In contrast, vitamin K2 is animal-derived and is found in small amounts from foods such as liver, certain cheeses, and other fermented foods, including natto food, made from fermented soybeans. Vitamin K2 can also be made by intestinal bacteria. Nature Made Vitamin K2 is naturally derived from the same microorganism present in natto food.
Consider complimenting with one of Nature Made’s many calcium, vitamin D and magnesium products, since adequate levels of these nutrients are important to help support healthy bones.
Vitamin K should be used with caution when combined with:
- Certain blood thinning medications (i.e. Coumadin/warfarin)
If you are pregnant or nursing, taking medication, facing surgery, have bleeding problems, or undergoing any other treatment which may affect the ability of blood to clot, consult your physician before taking this product.
Given that no two people are alike, if you are taking any medications you should be aware that potential drug-nutrient interactions may occur and are encouraged to consult a health care professional before using this product. Combining certain prescription drugs and dietary supplements can lead to undesirable effects such as:
- Diminished drug effectiveness
- Reduced supplement effectiveness
- Impaired drug and/or supplement absorption
